Through the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Senator Adán Augusto López notified last week of his decision to abandon the coordination of the Morena parliamentary faction in the Senate and it was not until this Sunday that it was finalized, reported President Claudia Sheinbaum.
In brief reference to this case, the head of the Executive Branch pointed out that the determination to work with the party at the territorial level “was a decision” of the legislator.
–Would you be thinking of offering him, perhaps, an embassy?
–No, he made the decision to… and the party to invite him. That was what he informed us –said the president without delving into the subject.
On the other hand, he reported that given the end of the term of the presidency of the Citizen Participation Committee of the National Anti-Corruption System, he announced that he would soon be sending the appointment. However, he noted that he intends to make some changes to this mechanism with the aim of empowering citizens in the fight against corruption.
At the conference, he considered that this is a system that has not worked very well. “We want to empower people, so that whoever experiences a situation of corruption (apart from what the government and public institutions have to do: the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariats and the Superior Audit of the Federation in its audits of public institutions) we want the citizen to have the ability to report. We are going to present some initiatives in that sense.”
