The outstanding dancer Paula Galdos Bernal, Arequipa native at heart, once again made history by becoming world champion of marinera in the Adult 2026 category, along with her partner Khider Baldwin, in the World Marinera Competition, organized by the Club Libertad Concursos.
The contest took place in the city of Lima, from January 25 to February 1, where dozens of couples demonstrated elegance and mastery in the different categories. However, Paula’s intense work paid off, winning this world title for the fourth time.
Paula Galdos, with tears in her eyes and her soul on the court, took the four-time championship and brings it to Arequipa.

With visible emotion, Paula celebrated this new achievement, the result of years of effort, discipline and love for the sailor. “I’m super excited and happy. It finished yesterday, February 1, and I feel very happy. Thanks to my teachers, brava, I’m super happy and grateful”he expressed.
Paula told Correo that she began her journey in sailors from the age of 4 and throughout her career she has achieved world titles in the Children’s categories (2010), Junior (2014), Youth (2016) and now this last one in the 2026. “The 2010 title was a dream come true,” story.
“The marinera is a complex and complete dance because it helps with many things. It is a beautiful art”he highlighted.
Likewise, her mother, Rosa Bernal, shared this joy for her daughter’s achievements and stated that she had months of preparation just for this championship.
