TV Brasil: Without Censura continues special programming with samba schools

The program Uncensoredfrom the TV Brasilis already in the Carnival mood with a series of special interviews and attractions dedicated to the festivities. The production led by Cissa Guimarães welcomes guests for thematic interviews about the 12 samba schools of the Rio de Janeiro Special Group. Representatives of the associations participate in the afternoon program for an in-depth chat with analysis, historical and cultural context. Journalist and content creator Muka participates as a debater. The purpose of the special is to celebrate the strength, creativity and diversity of the greatest show in Brazilian popular culture.

The program brings together performers, drum queens, dancers, master room and flag bearer couples, as well as rhythm players from the clubs’ drums for live performances, on the stage of the Uncensoredfrom Monday to Thursday, at 4pm. On Fridays, the TV Brasil displays a compilation of the best moments of the week.

Portela attractions on Monday (2/2)

Portela remembers mystical figures of Gaucho blackness and the legend of Negrinho do Pastoreio in this Monday’s Sem Censura (2) with the plot “The Mystery of the Prince of Bará”.

To talk about the association of the well-known Águia, presenter Cissa Guimarães interviews representatives from Azul e Branco, such as carnival artist André Rodrigues and rhythmists from the samba school, on the program’s bench.

The production also features an enlightening conversation with dancer and choreographer Carlinhos de Jesus and neurologist Felipe Schmidt. They address the autoimmune disease Chronic Radiculopathic Demyelinating Neuropathy that affected the artist.

Manguebeat packs Grande Rio on Tuesday (3/2)

With the theme “A Nação do Mangue”, the plot of Acadêmicos do Grande Rio livens up the revelry with the aesthetics of the Manguebeat cultural movement, created in Recife, in the 1990s. To talk about the group, Cissa Guimarães talks to carnival artist Antônio Gonzaga this Tuesday (3).

The presentation of the Duque de Caxias school values ​​aspects such as ecology, peripheral resistance and popular culture by uniting mangrove landscapes with the strong social criticism of rhythm and paying homage to icons such as Chico Science.

The program also includes the presence of journalist Rita Fernandes, president of Sebastiana, the main association of street blocks in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Dancer Preta Nascimento tells her story and gives a samba lesson on the Sem Censura stage.

Niterói Academics and Ambassadors of Joy on Wednesday (4/2)

On Wednesday (4), the samba school Acadêmicos de Niterói stands out. To talk about the association, the presenter welcomes Wallace Palhares, president of the association, and the duo Tiago Martins and Igor Ricardo, carnival artist and entrée artist who will bring the trajectory of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the parade.

The first samba school dedicated to the inclusion of people with disabilities, Embaixadores da Alegria is the subject of the interview with Caio Leitão, co-founder of the association that celebrates 20 years.

The guest explains the importance of accessibility in the festivities and in society. It is the association’s 18th consecutive parade in Marquês de Sapucaí.

The agenda is reinforced with the presence of social entrepreneur and businessman Mikael Noah. He created the “Social Transformers Award” which recognizes initiatives with a positive impact.

Vila Isabel celebrates Heitor dos Prazeres on Thursday (5/2)

The tribute to the multifaceted artist Heitor dos Prazeres serves as the motto for the performance by the Unidos de Vila Isabel samba school that Sem Censura includes this Thursday (5). The production brings carnival artists Gabriel Haddad and Leonardo Bora and drum master Macaco Branco to the public broadcaster’s studio.

Social activist and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, artist Vik Muniz also participates in the program. Considered one of the most established names in his field of activity in the country and abroad, he provides an overview of his work.

About the program

THE Uncensored has been part of the public channel’s programming since 1985, when it premiered on July 1st on the then TVE/RJ, today TV Brasilunder the command of Tetê Muniz. Since 2024, the attraction has returned to its original format with Cissa Guimarães on the bench.

The conversation circle welcomes artists and professionals from different areas to discuss current topics that interest society. The afternoon session has a fixed panel of debaters who rotate throughout the week. In 2025, the award-winning production of TV Brasil completed four decades on the air.

The last winner of the APCA Award for best television program and nominated again in the current edition, Sem Censura won, twice in a row, in 2024 and 2025, recognition with the NaTelinha Best of the Year Award, in the Best Interview Program category.

Interactivity is present in Sem Censura with the hashtag #semcensora on social media. The public can also participate via WhatsApp (21) 99903-5329. Cissa reads and comments on the messages, while guests answer the questions sent.

Broadcast from Monday to Thursday, live, at 4pm, and special editions every Friday, always on the same track, the program is shown simultaneously on the small screen, on the app TV Brasil Play and on the channel’s YouTube. Daily content is available in podcast format on Spotify. Sem Censura also has an alternative window on TV Brasil programming later on the same day, at 11:30 pm.
