Las Americas Airport, DR. -After almost two years of suspension that began in July 2024, air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela will be restored, after the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) will approve the reactivation of passenger, cargo and mail transportation operations between both countries.
The decision was adopted during an extraordinary session of the JAC held this February 2, through the Resolution no. 24-26within the framework of the agreement reached between the governments of the Dominican Republic and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Air operations had been suspended since July 29, 2024, when the Venezuelan Government ordered the paralysis of the commercial flights to and from Dominican territory.

Currently, the foreign airlines authorized to operate under the bilateral agreement are Rutas Aereas de Venezuela (RAV, SA), RUTACA, Líneas Aereas de Servicio Executive Regional (LASER), Turpial Airlines and Avior Airlines. Meanwhile, among the Dominican airlines that offer routes to Venezuela are Red Air SA and Sky High Aviation Dominicana SA
The Civil Aviation Board reiterated its support for the decisions of the Executive Branch aimed at the reopening of the skies between both nations, ensuring that the reactivation of services will be carried out in an orderly and safe manner, in accordance with the agreements established between the two States.
