Police personnel from the Pocollay Police Station in Tacna at 11 a.m. on Sunday dismantled the criminal gang called “The income rackets”, achieving the arrest of two men for being immersed in the alleged crime against public faith, generic falsehood.
The events occurred when the admission exam of the Private University of Tacna (UPT) was taking place on its Capanique campus.
Arrested by the Police
Cristian Milenio Chachaque Huanca (26), an applicant for a career in clinical laboratory and pathological anatomy, and Guido Iván Chachaque Romero (20), an applicant for physical therapy and rehabilitation, were arrested.
A black electronic device with a front camera with audio accessories with charger and USB inputs and a black mini cell phone electronic device with four cameras on the back and one front camera, with Internet applications and a touch screen were seized.
“Modus operandi” in action
It is presumed that these devices were going to be used to photograph the admission exam and send it to an accomplice on the street who would be in charge of solving the exam and who would then provide the answers via audio to the applicants.
Cristian Milenio Chachaque Huanca has a history of similar acts at the University of Acobamba in Huancavelica. The Prosecutor’s Office, through Judge Juan Ticona Málaga, took charge of the proceedings and the examination continued normally.
