Venezuela moves away from the regime: Cuban Leticia Gómez is dismissed as tourism minister

Leticia Gómez had been appointed Minister of Tourism on August 27, 2024, within the framework of a cabinet restructuring promoted by Nicolás Maduro. At that time, his appointment went relatively unnoticed due to other movements of greater political weight, such as the promotion of Diosdado Cabello to the Ministry of the Interior and the assumption of Delcy Rodríguez as head of the oil area.

Before reaching the top position in Venezuelan tourism, Gómez Hernández served as vice minister of International Tourism.
