Unrest and concern among the residents of the Chilca district is what has been generating streets that are no longer served and the number of holes in paved roads is increasing. In some cases they point out that they caused traffic accidents with bicycles and motorcyclists.
The residents of various neighborhoods in the Chilca district are what showed their discomfort at this reality that they have to endure every year. Among the most extreme cases, of streets with holes, are those of the Puzo urbanization, on Ferrocarril avenues, Arterial avenue, in addition to the Riva Agüero, José Pardo, Nicolás de Piérola streets, among others.
“When children or young people with bicycles pass by, they fall, trying to avoid the gaps. When it rains it is worse because it fills with water and they cannot see them. Even motorcyclists fell several times,” said the locals of the José Pardo jirón.
In the central area of this same district, a similar panorama can also be seen in the José Santos Chocano and Humboldt neighborhoods, as well as on General Córdova and Leoncio Prado avenues on the corner of Huancavelica, where a ditch can be seen that has to be avoided by the men behind the wheel.
“This is what generates traffic and also damages cars, we have to pass these gaps very slowly and when there are trucks they even delay the entire green light of the traffic light,” mentioned the transporter Henry Porras.
The people of Chilquense settled near the Teodoro Peñaloza park also showed their complaints about the poor condition of the track, reporting that there is no continuous maintenance.
