BANÍ.– The municipality of Baní was in mourning this Sunday after two fatal traffic accidents were recorded in different parts of the town, with a total of five people dead and eight injured.
Accident on Loma El Manaclar
During Sunday night, A man and his daughter lost their lives when the vehicle in which they were traveling overturned on the road towards the El Manaclar hill, in the northern part of the municipality. The vehicle, which was transporting a shipment of avocados, fell into a cliff.
The victims were identified as Domingo Villar70 years old, and his daughter Yarianny Villar16 years old. In this same event, three other people were injured and remain under observation at the Nuestra Señora de Regla Provincial Hospital.
Triple crash on Avenida Circunvalación Sur
Hours before, during the morning, a strong collision between a SUV and other vehicles on Circunvalación Sur Avenue left three dead and five injured.
Those killed in this crash are: Jorge Mateo73 years old (Vallejuelo, San Juan), Wáscar Almonte49 years old (Santo Domingo) and Wilmar Asencio18 years old (Santo Domingo).
Among the injured are Claudia Mateo (47 years old), Eugenia Almonte (49 years old) and Carlos Happy (30 years old), all treated at the local hospital. The most delicate situation is that of a child under three years old, identified as Dariela Mateowho due to the severity of her injuries was urgently referred to the Juan Pablo Pina hospital in San Cristóbal.
