The brothers Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia won this Sunday (01) Grammy Awards 2026 in the Best Global Music Album category with the album Caetano and Bethânia Live.
The award was received on their behalf by presenter Dee Dee Bridgewater, during an event in Los Angeles, United States.
The award-winning production is a record of the two artists’ tour. The achievement crowned an artistic moment marked by emotional reunions with the public and by the reaffirmation of the strength of Brazilian music on the international scene.
The album, recorded throughout the tour that crossed several Brazilian cities with packed houses, brings together hits from the two artists’ individual trajectories, such as Reconvex and Unholy Cowin addition to an unreleased version of Faithcomposition by Iza with new reading in the brothers’ voices.
While celebrating the victory on social media, Caetano and Bethânia wrote:
“What a joy to win the @grammys for ‘Best International Album’ together! In particular, we would like to thank the musicians who, alongside us, made this album happen.
Thank you very much to everyone who listened to the album, went to the shows and shared this story with us!”
For Maria Bethânia, the first Grammy represents international recognition after decades of career.
For Caetano, this was his sixth Grammy nomination and third award. The artist from Bahia has already won twice: with Book (1998) and João Voice and Guitar (2000), an album by João Gilberto that he produced.
