The Minister for University Education, Ricardo Sánchez, headed the International University Forum “Analysis of the Aggressions against Venezuela”, held at the Latin American University “Salvador Allende”. During the meeting, he highlighted that various study houses in the world have spoken out in rejection of these actions, which he described as clear evidence of the violation of international law.
The event brings together more than 200 delegates from 12 countries, including academics, thinkers and scientists. These participants, who also make up the Network of Intellectuals for Peace and Life, contribute through the systematization of knowledge to generate timely reflections for the global debate.
«Not only the universities of the Global South, but also the most prestigious institutions, have spoken out from a reflective perspective. “They ask themselves: What is happening today in the international system? How is the world order?” said Sánchez.
The minister stated that, currently, there is no school of international relations, geopolitics or political science that does not take Venezuela as a fundamental case study.
Likewise, he stressed that Venezuela never requested to be the “laboratory” of this debate; On the contrary, Venezuela claims its right to live in peace, reaffirming itself as a dignified, hard-working people committed to its development.
Finally, he noted that despite the events of January 3, universities remain open and their classrooms are fully operational. He also reiterated that the people remain in constant mobilization to demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores.
