Registration for the Bolsa Atleta 2026 program closes on February 6th. Interested in accessing the benefit, which provides monthly payments for a period of one year to athletes from different categories.
Scholarships range from R$410 to R$16,629, depending on the level and characteristics of the athletes. To be entitled to the benefit, the athlete must have obtained results in competitions in the previous year (2025), as long as they are recognized by the Ministry of Sports.
There are five categories of athletes eligible to receive the benefit: Olympic, Paralympic or Deaflympic athlete, international athlete, national athlete, grassroots athlete and student athlete.
“For Olympic athletes, for example, who are preparing for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, the criteria for receiving the scholarship is to have been part of the Brazilian team at the Summer Olympic or Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, Winter Olympic or Paralympic Games in Beijing 2022, Summer Deaflympic Games in Tokyo 2025 or Winter Deaflympic Games in Erzurum 2022”, detailed the ministry.
Registrations are made exclusively online, from the Gov.br portal, requiring the submission of a form and supporting documentation directly to the Bolsa Atleta System.
In 2025, Bolsa Atleta broke a record number of beneficiaries, with 9,207 registered athletes, more than the 8,739 covered in the previous year.
