Pucmm presents 1,273 new professionals in Santiago

The Pontifical Catholic Mother and Teacher University (Pucmm) delivered 1,273 new professionals to society this Saturday during the graduation number 113 of the Santiago campus, in an event in which the academic authorities They urged the graduates to respond to society with honesty, transparency and ethical commitment.

During the ceremony, it was reported that more than half of the graduates corresponded to postgraduate programs, with a total of 653 professionals, equivalent to 51%, while 620 graduated from degree programs, for 49%.

Of the total graduates, 841 were women, which represents 66%, and 432 menequivalent to 34%.

Nine doctors were also invested in the event, including five in Lawthree in Spanish Studies and one PhD in History of the Caribbean.

With this promotion, the Pucmm reaches the historic figure of 104,606 university degrees awarded in his 63 years of academic career.

The invocation was carried out by Monsignor Héctor Rafael Rodríguezmetropolitan archbishop of Santiago and great chancellor of the university, who asked wisdom and righteousness for new professionals, urging them to act with honesty and sensitivity to the needs of society.

When delivering the keynote speech, the rector of the PucmmReverend Father Dr. Secilio Espinal, highlighted that the current challenges of the Dominican Republic require a professional practice based on ethics and transparency, both in the public and private sectors.

He stressed that honesty in the management of State resources, accountability and respect for institutions must be a permanent standard in professional life.

Espinal stated that the graduates have the human and technical skills necessary to contribute to the transformation of society and promote balanced and fair development, urging them to act in accordance with the constitutional principles supported by truth and justice.

Achievements

During his speech, the rector highlighted recent achievements of the university, including the design and sending for manufacturing of the first microprocessor developed in the country for the semiconductor industry, as well as the simultaneous obtaining of the ISO 9001 certificationsin administrative management, and ISO 21001, for educational organizations.

He also highlighted the positioning of the Pucmm in international rankings such as Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings Latin America and the Caribbean 2026.

As guest speaker, the president and founding partner of Cecomsa, Fernando Rosarioshared his experience as a graduate of the Pucmmhighlighting the academy’s social inclusion policy that allowed him to train professionally.

He urged the graduates to work with discipline, continuous learning and conviction, pointing out that the real success It is built with merit.

Representing the graduates, the doctor in Stomatology Dominique Jimenez Benoit called to practice the profession with human sensitivitystating that the value of professional merit It is strengthened when it is accompanied by humanity in daily exercise.

The event was attended by academic authoritiesreligious, governmental and municipal, as well as businessmen and representatives of different sectors of society, who accompanied the new professionals in this act of academic culmination.
