Hipólito Mejía destaca legado de Ramón Alburquerque durante velatorio

The former president of the Republic, Hipólito Mejía, revealed that he had spoken with engineer Ramón Alburquerque about ten days ago, and that at that moment he perceived him to be stable and animated.

Santo Domingo. — The former president of the Republic, Hipólito Mejía, went this Saturday to the Memorial Funeral Home to express their condolences to the family of the leader of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Ramón Alburquerque.

During his visit, Mejía recalled that, despite the illness he faced, Alburquerque remained in good spirits. “I felt, given the knowledge I had about his cancer, very encouraged. But cancer is a difficult disease,” he expressed.

The former president highlighted the political career of the former senator and stressed the importance of preserving his legacy. “We have left a political history in our country and it is important to be consistent with the message they transmit to us. We must remember his friendship and contributions,” he said.

Likewise, he valued the experience and ability of Albuquerque within the political organization. “All of us share a lot of time.

We supported him when he was party president and demonstrated his knowledge and ability. “He held many important positions and carried out his work with great responsibility,” he indicated.

Mejía concluded by pointing out that, despite the complexities of political life, the leadership of Albuquerque consolidated over time. “Little by little, he strengthened his role and left a mark that must be respected,” he stated.

The death of the leader has generated various signs of solidarity and recognition by figures from the national political sphere.
