The gangs operated in Tultitlán and Coacalco, State of Mexico, where they distributed and sold drugs, in addition to committing multiple acts of violence.
Federal and state security elements participated in the arrest, as well as members of the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard.
“With the information collected, the municipalities of Tultitlán and Coacalco were located as the mobility zones of various groups that generate violence, thus, in a coordinated manner, operations were implemented with which 10 men and one woman were detained, for whom arrest warrants were completed for their relationship with at least 16 homicides,” according to the Security Cabinet.
The detainees were taken to prisons in the State of Mexico, where a judge will determine their situation.
