The defense of the former Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Jose Ramon Peraltastated this Thursday that the Public Ministry “has not presented a single piece of evidence linking him to acts of corruption“. The statements were offered by the lawyer Emery Colomby Rodríguezone of the legal representatives of Peraltaat the end of the audience before the Judge Altagracia Ramírezin which the defense presented his arguments and raised incidents of evidentiary exclusion.

Evidence questioned by the defense

He also mentioned documents from the National Treasury that “only reflect the earned salary by the former official”, as well as records of commercial companies which, he stated, are not charged nor are they related to Peralta.
The lawyer asserted that there is no proven or deposited evidence to support allegations about the existence of illicit goods or the assumption irregular financing of political campaigns and questioned that the Public Ministry presented a set of documents “as if they were sufficient evidence to support the accusation.”
