“A squad of 14 military personnel made up of the northern military detachment, the corps of engineers and the logistics support command were carrying out work to deactivate ammunition and during this process the slope collapsed in the pit in which they were working,” he said. the institution.

The deceased are Lieutenant Erling Concepción Hernández Hurtado, Second Sergeant Antonio Guadalupe Arias Quiroz and Private First Class Wilmar Noel López Landero.
The survivors of this incident are First Lieutenant Uriel Cosme Martínez, soldiers Roberto Wilmer Medina and Tonny Pérez Sequeira. The three were treated at a hospital in Puerto Cabezas in the North Caribbean of Nicaragua.
