The Third National Criminal Appeals Chamber of the National Superior Court of Specialized Criminal Justice of the Judiciary Powerl declared unfounded the request to suspend the provisional execution of the conviction imposed on the former president Martin Vizcarrarequired for his legal defense.
It should be noted that the former president has been serving prison since last November 26 after it was proven that he received bribes for the Lomas de Ilo and Hospital de Moquegua works.
In that sense, the Barbadillo Penitentiary Establishment was informed to periodically report every 15 days on the condition and state of health of the former president, “in order to safeguard and adequately care for the ailments he has been suffering from.”
It should be noted that Vizcarra underwent emergency surgery after presenting with a kidney problem on January 21, as reported by the Repromedic Clinic through a press release.
During the operation, doctors managed to remove three kidney stones. “As a result of the surgical procedure, two stones located in the ureter and one in the right kidney were removed,” the statement states.
Likewise, specialists diagnosed a more complex condition in the former head of state. “Severe left ureteral stenosis was diagnosed, a condition that has generated severe hydronephrosis as a complication,” the clinic indicated.
After this, new examinations were ordered to determine the extent of the problem and define the definitive treatment. In addition, the clinic reported that, after the intervention, the former president is stable.
Vizcarra’s brother speaks out
Through his social networks, Mario Vizcarra, brother of the former president and presidential candidate with Peru Primero, pointed out the decision made by the Judiciary as “an injustice.”
“In Peru, first we feel that justice is turning its back on us. It is incredible: they omitted his current contract and used a past one. The powerful want him imprisoned for political revenge; they use the system to remove rivals. We say to them: We will continue fighting!” he wrote on his networks.
