HOLY SUNDAY.– The Permanent Attention Office of the National District imposed this Wednesday three months of preventive detention to the Army lieutenant colonel, Samuel Elías Céspedes Valdezcharged by the death of the young Licairis Yalibes Díaz Valenzuelain an event that occurred in the past Sunday January 25 in it Mirador Sur parkof the National District.
The court adopted the measure after accepting the request from the Public Ministrywhich described the case as “voluntary manslaughter”.
In his request for a measure of coercion, the Public Ministry indicated that the officer had a romantic relationship with the victim and that during a discussion shot him with a firearm while both were in the aforementioned park.

According to the prosecuting body, the removal of the corpse was made by a medical examiner of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif)who certified that the cause of death was a gunshot woundwhose trajectory is incompatible with an accidental eventas the accused alleged.
The Public Ministry maintains that, for the impact pathit can be deduced that it was a voluntary manslaughterwhich is why the facts were legally qualified according to the articles 295 and 304, numeral II, of the Dominican Penal Code.
