The Judiciary authorized the start of the oral trial against him former president Alejandro Toledo for the ‘Interoceánica Sur Case – Section 4’ for which the Prosecutor’s Office requests more than 24 years of effective prison.
According to the resolution of Judge Richard Concepción Carhuancho, of January 23, there is sufficient “merit” for the process to advance to the next phase and the arguments of both parties can be heard.

As is remembered, at former president Alejandro Toledo He is accused of committing the crimes of collusion and aggravated money laundering in the construction of the fourth section of the South Interoceanic Highway.
The provisional provincial prosecutor of the Lima Fiscal District Diana Liz Canchihuaman Castañeda requested 24 years and 8 months of effective prison against the aforementioned former president for alleged corruption.
Returning to the resolution that authorizes the start of the oral trial, this also reaches Avraham Dan On, former head of security for the former head of state, Alberto Pasco Font, and the Brazilian businessman Marcos de Moura.
The Intersur Concesiones Consortium and the construction companies Camargo Corrêa, Andrade Gutierrez Engenharia, Queiroz Galvão, were also included as civilly responsible third parties.
According to what was resolved by Judge Richard Concepción, the National Collegiate Criminal Court will be the corresponding authority to set the date and time of the start of the oral trial against former president Alejandro Toledo.
