Vice Admiral Manuel Roberto Farías, subject to criminal proceedings for organized crime for the purpose of committing crimes in the field of hydrocarbons, yesterday sent a letter to President Claudia Sheinbaum in which he denounces fabrication of guilt, denial of access to the investigation and his irregular discharge from the Secretary of the Navy before concluding the legal process.
In the letter, he requests a review of the case and presidential intervention so that justice is done “and that no one is found guilty, since keeping me in a cell in the middle of a flawed and, at times, even perverse process, seems more like a spirit of revenge than justice.”
He recalled that on September 2, 2025, he was detained in his office of the inspection of the Tenth Naval Region based in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, by Criminal Investigation agents accused of organized crime for the purpose of committing hydrocarbon crimes.
Alleges “corrupting effect”
The sailor pointed out that he is turning again to the President, because this case has been carried out “with a corrupting and politicized effect” in such a way that, he points out, “it has been impossible for me to carry out an adequate defense.”
The vice admiral added in the letter that the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, as well as the Secretary of the Navy, treat him as guilty and proof of this is that the institution discharged him on December 18, 2025 “illegally, a situation for which legal recourse has already been established to safeguard my rights and my social benefits.”
Farías indicated that he also requested the FGR for access to the complementary investigation, in addition to various acts of investigation since November 10 of last year, but to date they have not provided him with anything.
The vice admiral reiterated that in the volumes of the investigation folder 568/2025, there is information where they want to make him responsible.
“Initiating an investigation into a YouTube video that does not exist and from there forcing a series of data and investigation techniques full of inaccuracies that to this day have served to keep me deprived of my freedom, an attempt by the Navy to end my professional career (by discharging me without completing the legal process).
