The CNBV sanctions Elektra and Bank of China with 2.7 million pesos

The law establishes that the companies or issuers registered in the National Securities Registry are obliged to inform the CNBV and the Stock Exchange in which their securities are listed (BMV or BIVA) of unusual movements that affect the volume of operations or their price, as well as changes in the supply or demand for its securities or in their price.

As for the fine for Bank of China, it amounted to 448,100 pesos and the reasons were not submitting the request for access to the technological platform operated by Banco de México (Banxico).

“The company has not submitted to the Bank of Mexico the request for access to the technological platform to comply with the exchange of information referred to in 62 quater of the provisions,” detailed the CNBV.

This breach occurred in 2021 and is also subject to challenge.
