The Ezequiel Zamora National Peasant Union (Uncez) held the election of its national strategic commissions this Sunday, as part of the consolidation of its organizational structure.
The process concluded with the appointment of Marlene López (Carabobo) to the Organization and Training commission; Anario Espinosa Gallardo (Apure) in Productive Economics; and Germán Vides Florez (Táchira) in Comprehensive Defense and National Sovereignty.
The election was carried out by 72 state spokespersons, previously selected in grassroots assemblies. According to official figures, more than 1,000,000 peasants participate permanently in 15,563 rural communities, which grants legitimacy to the national leadership of Uncez.
Alignment with the 7Ts
The peasant sector has been integrated into a national bloc to promote the 7 Great Transformations (7T), with goals towards the year 2031. Among the objectives set is the substitution of imports and the strengthening of agricultural production.
The organization announced that it will begin a regional phase for the identification and election of specific spokespersons for sectors, such as corn, vegetables, coffee, cocoa and livestock.
The day closed with the installation of work tables to define immediate projects. With this election, Uncez establishes a national leadership scheme and prepares specialization by productive sectors in the next stages.
