In the early afternoon of this Sunday (25), lightning struck protesters who were gathered at Praça do Cruzeiro, in Brasília. According to the Federal District Health Department, dozens of people were injured. 
In a statement, the ministry reported that at least 11 protesters affected were taken to the Asa Norte Regional Hospital (HRAN). “There were no deaths recorded.”
The location had been chosen for the end of an act for the amnesty of former president Jair Bolsonaro, organized by federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG). Videos posted on social media show the moment of the electrical discharge.
The group was concentrated in the square awaiting the parliamentarian’s arrival. It was raining heavily at the time the lightning struck the protesters.
