Despite being the most violent year in the entity, Marcela Figueroa, head of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), stated that at the end of the year a reduction in violence was achieved.
“In this case we present a decrease of 43% from June 2025 to December 2025. June had reached the highest point of the incidence of this crime and December closed with an average of 3.94 (homicides),” reported on January 8.
In June 2025, 207 homicides were recorded in that entity, the highest number since the beginning of the confrontation (September 2024). The year closed with 122.
This decrease was celebrated by the governor of the entity, although he assured that the entity has not yet been pacified.
“There is a statistic that the secretary manages, particularly in homicides we have decreased, how good, but as I tell you, we have also decreased in vehicle theft, we have increased the percentage of vehicle delivery, but we do not want to highlight that, we want to say that we still need to,” he said.
The governor announced that he will continue coordination with the federal government to contain the violence in Sinaloa.
2025 was also a violent year for women, closing with 72 feminicides, the highest number since 2017 when 86 were recorded.
