“Each of the states is running their agendas with investors, but I am sure that we will exceed 500 million euros,” she said this morning.
The secretary explained that they are investments in hotel expansion and experiences, such as those of Grupo Vidanta, which came to Fitur to close commercial agreements that can be integrated into the theme park that recently opened in Nuevo Nayarit.
Along these lines, Octavio de la Torre, president of Concanaco Servytur, pointed out that 50 businessmen from the confederation of 15 entities attended the fair.
“We come to this fair to do business and we are having meetings with businessmen, we are looking to generate interaction with 150 countries that are part of the event,” said De la Torre, who said that they have very good investment expectations due to the large delegation of Mexicans that came to Fitur this year.
“The expectation is positive because all of Madrid dressed in Mexico, but also because everyone in Madrid comes accompanied by the business owners and that makes it even more attractive, because they sit with the owners of the mezcals, the tequilas, the crafts, the textiles, the hotels, the tourist experiences and the promoters of the sector.
“It seems to me that it is going to be a great showcase for the country, but it has to be translated into numbers, that is, the important thing is that this works in results and everyone is looking for how to generate business and activity,” said the president of Concanaco Servytur, who said that for this the conditions of infrastructure, security and legal certainty for investments are vital.
De la Torre explained that they are working so that, in view of the Soccer World Cup, merchants, especially from the Magical Towns, accelerate their incorporation into electronic payments so that they can better serve visitors, who are expected to arrive as part of the community routes that are promoted by Sectur.
“There is a program that is being worked on, which will surely be announced in the next two months, focused mainly on those businesses and on those people who have not overcome the trap of informality, if we manage to reduce one or two or three points to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) that represents that segment of the economy, it will be a great advance,” said the businessman who explained that they are working on the program together with the federal government.
