The National Board of Justice decided not to ratify Pablo Wilfredo Sánchez Velarde as supreme prosecutor, considering that he has not fully satisfied the necessary criteria for his ratification, such as suitability and integrity. Without showing examples and arguments, the entity maintains that Sánchez Velarde registers irregularities in his conduct, attendance and punctuality.
They also specify that he maintains a disciplinary record in the quality of his decisions and his professional development. “Sánchez Velarde registers a suspension of one hundred and twenty (120) days, as it is proven that the magistrate committed very serious disciplinary offenses,” says the National Board of Justice.
Following the decision to remove Sánchez Velarde, the JNJ points out that it reaffirms its commitment to guarantee suitable, meritocratic and impartial procedures for the appointments, ratifications, partial evaluations and disciplinary procedures of judges and prosecutors, with the aim of strengthening the country’s justice system.
