In the crisis room of the Tacna Regional Emergency Operations Center (COER), a meeting was held between authorities and officials to evaluate the situation due to the intense rains that are occurring in the Andean area of the Tacna region.
The director of the Regional Office of Citizen Security, National Defense and COER Tacna, Tito Chocano Rabanal, reported that on January 13, a coordination meeting was held with the representatives of the districts of Cairani, Candarave, Ilabaya and Tarata; and that on January 19, training was held for municipal officials on the correct recording of information in the damage reporting system.

It was also reported that the authorities of the Quilahuani district have officially requested the declaration of emergency in response to the flooding of the Callazas River, a request that is being evaluated in Lima. To date, 134 districts of Peru have been declared in emergency by the Central Government due to overflows, silting and impact on the population due to the storm.
Chocano also explained that the main regional warehouse is supplied with 219 tons of humanitarian aid goods and that the advanced warehouses of Candarave, Ilabaya, Locumba, Tarata and Palca have 15 tons each.
