New executive board of directors of the Dominican Medical College sworn in in Puerto Plata

Nueva directiva ejecutiva del Colegio Médico Dominicano en Puerto Plata

PUERTO PLATA.- In a busy ceremony held at its Club House in the community of Muñoz, the new 2025-2027 executive board of the subsidiary in the province was sworn in. Puerto Plata from the Dominican Medical College (CMD).

After the invocation to God and the notes of the national anthem, the proclamation of act No. 070 was read, which made official the victory of plate No. 3 led by the Doctor Tejada Florentino medical movement, which by compiling 110 votes surpassed the others in the local internal elections of the CMD.

This union is chaired by Dr. Yasseiry Peña de Miliano, accompanied by Dr. Leandro Gómez as Vice President; Dr. José Alexander Matos is the general secretary and Dr. Angelina Hernández is the Secretary of Finance.

Likewise, Dr. Juana Guzmán is the Recording Secretary; Dr. Ali Hussein Mohamad Auon Ortiz is the first member (Ethics and Qualifications), Dr. Greisy Pérez is the second member (Medical Education) and Dr. Miguel López is the coordinator of the Special Commissions.

In her inauguration speech, Dr. Peña de Miliano emphasized intergenerational unity, revealing three pillars of action in the first 100 days of her administration, which are: institutional strengthening, the dignification of the CMD headquarters in the Puerto Plata province, in addition to the proximity to union defense.

Likewise, he said that he will implement a census and provincial survey of all the doctors in Puerto Plata, to know precisely how many there are, where they are and under what conditions they work, because what is not known cannot be defended, which is why every need of the doctors will be mapped.

He stated that Law 68-03 gives him the power to be the voice of those who have been silenced since he has learned that true leadership is not imposed with power, it is cultivated by treating people well.

In that same order, he called on medical professionals to reaffirm their commitment to work in dialogue, respect and harmony for the well-being of doctors and to take excellent care of the health of the people, providing the best service with the humility and dignified treatment that characterizes them.
