Medicines based on tirzepatide under the brands Synedica and TG, and retatrutida, of all brands and batches, had their commercialization, distribution, manufacture, import, dissemination and use prohibited by the National Health Agency (Anvisa) this Wednesday (21). These products are popularly known as “weight loss pens from Paraguay”.
According to the agency, these medicines are produced by unknown companies and are sold – on Instagram profiles – “without registration, notification or registration with Anvisa”.
Anvisa also says in its statement that, as they are irregular and of unknown origin, “there is no guarantee about their content or quality”, and that therefore these weight loss pens cannot be used “under any circumstances”.
The resolution on the ban was published in Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday.
