Given the strike carried out by the workers of the Provincial Municipality of Piura, the city woke up full of garbage, which caused officials of the entity to adopt other measures to collect solid waste. He municipal manager, Gerardo Alvarado announced that they will denounce the workers who affected the basic public cleaning service.
After a 24-hour strike, the Sitramunp, Stomp and Sutramunp unions suspended their work to participate in this measure of struggle, in which they expose a series of problems and lack of payments of their labor benefits.
The leader Alberto Campos, of the Sitramunp union, explained that there are 16 claims, among them the alleged abandonment of more than 30 employees who were dismissed due to time of service and do not receive their payment, in addition to the failure to pay the arbitration award through internal credits and the failure to comply with the collective agreement that affects more than 1,400 workers.

“The municipality has not paid the award and it has affected hundreds of workers. There is no payment for burial and mourning. There are a series of problems and there is no solution,” said Alberto Campos.
In addition, they indicated that they do not have equipment and uniforms to carry out their jobs on a daily basis.
For his part, municipal manager Gerardo Alvarado said that this measure followed by the workers would be illegal and will be reported due to the impact on the city.
“Not everyone has complied with the strike. There has been a group with which we have done the collection with motorcycle vans and the entity’s own machinery. The entire historic center and some other sectors have been collected and attended to. Obviously in a restricted manner, but actions will be taken because the unions were informed in a timely manner that the measure was not legal and that the essential public cleaning service must also be guaranteed. This impact will be reported to the corresponding authorities,” he indicated.
