A stepfather was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the crime of inappropriate touching to the detriment of his stepdaughter, who was a minor at the time of the events, reported the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Violence Against Women and Members of the Family Group of Huancayo.
The sentence against Yonathan Quinto Cordero (34) was handed down by the First Supraprovincial Transitory Collegiate Criminal Court, after evaluating evidence such as the interview at the Gesell Chamber and the psychological expert examination, which proved his criminal responsibility.
According to the tax investigation, the events occurred in 2021, when the victim was 11 years old, and were reported in 2022, after educational professionals detected warning signs and communicated the situation to the minor’s mother.
The Public Ministry, led by the provincial prosecutor Andreey Ortega Vásquez, managed to support the accusation that allowed the conviction. The Judiciary ordered the immediate location and capture of the convicted person to serve the sentence.
