Cancún, QRoo.- During her tour of Spain, within the framework of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Madrid, the governor of Quintana RooMara Lezama Espinosa, announced the Banking Convention 2026which for the first time in its history will be held in Cancun from March 18 to 20.
During a meeting with Eduardo Osuna Osunavice president and general director of BBVA Bancomer México, the progress and logistical requirements for this convention organized by the Association of Banks of Mexico were addressed (ABM), scheduled from March 18 to 20, 2026 at the AVA Resorts Hotel, an event that will bring together the main actors in the national financial system.
“Good news for Quintana Roo from Madrid, from FITUR: the 2026 Banking Convention in Cancun has been confirmed. We have talked about many things on the financial issue, in these state investment opportunities, about how the World Cup is coming, also as a lever for investment, but something fundamental is the banking convention confirmed in the state of Quintana Roo,” said Lezama Espinosa.
For his part, Eduardo Osuna stated that in addition to the Convention they talked about the enormous investment opportunities in the state of Quintana Roo.
After the work meeting, Mara Lezama and Eduardo Osuna participated in the Tourism and Investment Forumalong with panelists and international businessmen to continue attracting investment to Mexico in the tourism industry, and in which Quintana Roo presented the advantages of the 2026 World Cup as a lever for development.
The Banking Convention It is the most relevant event in the financial sector at the national level. For the first time that this meeting will be held in Cancun, outside of its traditional headquarters, Acapulco, Guerrero.
