The president of the USA, donald trumpextended invitations to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and the European Union (EU) to be part of the Peace Board that will oversee the new Gaza Governmentas confirmed this Monday by the Kremlin and the European Commission.
From Moscow, presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov confirmed that Putin He received the proposal to join that body “through diplomatic channels” and indicated that the Russian Government is evaluating the details of the initiative.
“Indeed, President Putin has received through diplomatic channels the proposal to become part of the Peace Board. We are currently studying all the details of the proposal,” he stated.
Peskov added that they hope to “clarify all doubts” in the next contacts with Washington, the agency reported EFE.
That same day, Putin called a meeting of the Russian Security Council, although the agenda of the issues discussed did not go beyond.
Peace for Gaza, according to Trump
In parallel, the European Commission confirmed that The US also invited the EU to join the Gaza Peace Board. Community spokesperson Olof Gill indicated that the invitation was received and valued, although he avoided specifying whether the bloc will accept.
“We have received the invitation, which we appreciate. The president (of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen) is in contact with European leaders on geopolitical issues,” he declared.
He added that “the priority for us is to reach peace and contribute to a global plan to end the conflict in Gaza”and announced that these contacts will continue during the week.
The Peace Board is part of the plan promoted by Trump and would be linked to a UN contingent in charge of guaranteeing the security and demilitarization of Gaza, pointed out EFE.
In this context, the European Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Anouar El Anouni, pointed out that the EU is willing to dialogue with the United States and other international actors on how to achieve these objectives jointly.
As he explained, the twenty-seven countries of the EU have experts, means and tools that could be activated in the areas of security, diplomacy and humanitarian aid.

Who will make up the Peace Board?
According to the information released so far, the Board would include figures such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair; the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio; White House emissary Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law.
King Abdullah II of Jordan is also invited to be part of it; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan; the Argentine president, Javier Milei, and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
The formation of this body occurs after the announcement of the second phase of Trump’s peace plan for Gaza, which contemplates the creation of a Government of technocrats in the Strip and the disarmament of the Hamas movement.
In addition, the White House announced that during the Davos Forum, which is being held this week in Switzerland and will feature Trump’s intervention, they will offer more details about the countries that would make up the International Stabilization Forcethe UN contingent destined to guarantee the security and demilitarization of the territory.
