The official assured that cooperation generates real results in terms of security.
Last week and in the midst of tensions caused by threats from Donald Trump, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, and the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, spoke by phone about the security challenges that their countries face. They also scheduled a meeting in Washington for February.
In a joint statement, the officials reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between Mexico and the United States, ”based on mutual respect for sovereignty and agreed that more needs to be done to confront shared threats.”
