More of 1,320 auto parts seized and 7 vehicles recoveredare some of the results obtained in the development of Inspection, Surveillance and Control operations carried out by the Secretariat of Security, Coexistence and Justice and the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, from January 1 to March 14 of this year.

The actions that are part of the district security strategy to combat car theft and the crime of reception, have been carried out in 175 auto parts sales establishments and mechanic workshops in seven localities (Barrios Unidos, Los Mártires, Kennedy, Antonio Nariño, Suba, Engativá, Puente Aranda) focused on the capital of the country.
“We are going to continue with these actions together with the Police with new elite groups that are going to strengthen our actions against theft, which is one of the crimes that most affects citizens.”, affirmed the Secretary of Security, Coexistence and Justice, Aníbal Fernández de Soto.
In total they have visited 66 establishments in the month of January, 60 in February and 49 so far in March, with the localities of Barrios Unidos and Los Mártires registering the highest number of these actions with 50 commercial premises inspected in each one.

In the operations, the commercial activity of 57 establishments was also temporarily suspended, 24 preventive closures and volunteers and 13 people were captured, among others.
The balance of the Secretariat of Security, Coexistence and Justice also shows the sum of $451,400,000 between items seized and recovered in the framework of this offensive aimed at the criminal auto parts market.
