The Brazilian delegation will have 14 athletes in five sports at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games (Italy), which will take place between the 6th and 22nd of February. Among the highlights on the list released this Monday (19) by the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) are Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (alpine skiing), NicoleiSilveira (skeleton) and Pat Burgener (snowboard), who recently climbed to the podium in the current winter sports season, which started in November. The total number of Brazilian participants is already the largest in history, surpassing the record of 13 competitors registered at the Games in Sochi (Russia), in 2014. The country is looking for an unprecedented medal in the competition.
In alpine skiing, in addition to Lucas Braathen, the country will have Christian Oliveira, Giovanni Ongaro and Alice Padilha as representatives. In cross country skiing, Eduarda Ribera, Bruna Moura, and Manex Silva were called up. Athletes Pat Burgener and Agostinho Teixeira will compete in snowboard halfpipe and Nicole Silveira will be the only Brazilian athlete in skeleton.
In bobsled, only the name of the driver of the 4-man sled (four men) is defined: it will be Edson Bindilatti, 46, from Bahia, who will compete in the Winter Games for the sixth time. The others – three members of the sled and also a reserve athlete – will be announced soon.

Brazilians at the Milan-Cortina Games
Nicole Silveira – Skeleton
Fourth placed in the World Cup last year, the 31-year-old from Rio Grande do Sul arrives at the Olympics on a high note after winning bronze on the 9th, in the skeleton World Cup stage, in St. Moritz (Switzerland). Since she was seven years old, Nicole has lived in Canada. Before embracing skeleton, she dedicated herself to bobsled and was one of those qualified for the 2018 PyeongChang Games.
Edson Bindilatti – Bobsled
A pioneer in the sport, the Bahian is the most experienced on the team, with five Olympic appearances under his belt: Salt Lake City 2002, Turin 2006, Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014, PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. He sealed Brazil’s place at the Cortina-Milan Games after placing fourth in the 4-man bobsled at the America’s Cup bobsled, in Lake Placid (United States), on the 11th. On the occasion, he commanded the sled that also included André Luiz da Silva and Edson Martins from São Paulo and Tauler Zatti from Santa Catarina.
Lucas Pinheiro Braathen- Alpine Skiing
The skier arrives at the Cortina-Milan Games with four podiums, the last of which was on Sunday (18), when he won the third silver of the season, at the World Cup stage in Wengen (Switzerland). Almost a week earlier, he had already finished runner-up in the giant slalon at the Adelboden stage, also in Switzerland. The first silver was obtained in December, in Alta Badia (Italy), also in the giant slalom. In October, Lucas was champion in the slalom at the Levi stage (Finland). in Finland, Born in Oslo (Norway), son of a Brazilian mother and a Norwegian father, Lucas started to defend Brazil with sporting nationality in 2024.
Christian Oliveira – Alpine Skiing
Born in Rio de Janeiro, son of a Brazilian mother and a Norwegian father, Christian moved to the Nordic country as a baby. He even competed for the Norwegian team and was part of the alpine skiing team at the University of Denver (USA) before defending Brazil in the 2025/2026 season.
Giovanni Ongaro – Alpine Skiing
Son of a Brazilian mother, Giovanni Ongaro was born in Italy and, like Lucas Pinheiro, changed his sporting nationality to Brazilian in 2024/25. At the 2025 Junior Alpine Ski World Championships, in Tarvisio (Italy), he was placed 31st in the Slalom discipline.
Alice Padilha – Alpine Skiing
After two editions without female athletes in the sport, Brazil will have Alice Padilha from Rio as a representative. In February last year, she secured the third Brazilian place in alpine skiing at the Milan-Cortina Games. Alice started skiing at the age of six in the United States. After turning 18, she moved to Austria, where she trains for competitions.
Eduarda Ribera – Cross-Country Skiing
The 21-year-old athlete is about to compete in the second Olympics of her career – the first was in Beijing 2022, when she replaced Bruna Moura, who suffered a car accident on the eve of the event. Resident in Brazil, Eduarda has won victories in the Brazilian Rollerski Circuit – organized by the Brazilian Snow Sports Confederation (CBDN) – and has represented the country in international competitions.
Bruna Moura – Cross-Country Skiing
The skier had to postpone her debut at the Winter Olympics for four years, after suffering a car accident shortly before the start of the Beijing 2022 Games. In the Olympic cycle for Milan-Cortina 2026, Bruna competed in cross-country skiing events in Europe, including the World Championships.
Manex Silva – Cross-Country Skiing
In February last year, Manex achieved the Olympic rating at the Ski Cross-Country World Cup in Trondheim (Norway) and secured the first Brazilian spot for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games in Men’s Cross-Country Skiing. The 23-year-old from Acre, who has lived in Europe since his teens, competed in the 2022 Beijing Games.
Pat Burgener – Snowboard Halfpipe
Also coming strong at the Winter Games in Italy is Burgener, a snowboarder born in Switzerland. Last year he transferred his sporting nationality to Brazil, opting for the country where his Lebanese mother was a refugee for more than 10 years. In December, he became the first Brazilian to advance to the final in the opening stage of the Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup, in Secret Garden (China). At the beginning of this year, he secured an unprecedented podium for Brazil in the sport, at the Calgary (Canada) stage, by winning the bronze medal. This will be Burgener’s first Olympics as a Brazilian athlete and the third of his career overall.
Augustinho Teixeira – Snowboard Halfpipe
Born in Ushuaia (Argentina), Brazilian snowboarder Augustinho has been achieving impressive results in the Olympic cycle of the Milan-Cortina Games. At the beginning of last year, he was champion of the European Cup, in Kitzsteinhorn (Austria) and came 18th in the Snowboard Halfpipe World Championship in Engadin (Switzerland).
