“Maito” and “Little boy” They witnessed the double crime of Marleny Hernández and her master, the famous hairdresser Mauricio Leal, murdered at the hands of his brother Jhonier Leal, in his mansion in La Calera in Bogotá.
The two puppies were the pets of “Maito” Leal and lived with him in his luxurious residence, valued at more than 1,800 million pesos.

After his death, these two canines were abandoned and with an uncertain future despite being left in the hands of a caregiver.

This is Don Simón, a trusted friend of Mauricio Leal, who saw him grow up and was very close to Marleny Hernández, mother of the famous hairdresser.
He has had them in his possession for three months.

This was announced by an Instagram account called: “Justice for Mao and his mommy.”
“The decision has been made that they continue to care for him, they feel the absence of their masters and with Don Simón they are very well, he loves them and they love him,” reads a post published in said account.
In turn, they reiterated that they will not be up for adoption and that the necessary funds were raised so that Don Simón can feed and maintain “Maito” and “Niñito”.
Also to other dogs and cats that he has given shelter.
It should be remembered that on the day of the crime, Mauricio Lesl’s neighbors claim to have heard a constant barking from the stylist’s pets, murdered along with his mother in November 2021.
For this double murder there is a confession: That of Jhonier Leal, brother and son respectively of the victims.
The confessed murderer is deprived of liberty in the prosecutor’s bunker awaiting his sentence, which could be between 27 and 30 years in prison.
