The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) recalled that the taxpayers They can renew the tag through their web portal or the mobile application of the DGIIusing the identification number or RNC and the vehicle license plate data.
To carry out the renewal online, users must access the tag portal of the DGII or click on the promotional banner “Renew here”, and follow the system instructions. Payment is made exclusively with credit card.
The DGII explained that the requested tag online is delivered within an approximate period of four business days for Greater Santo Domingo and eight working days for the interior of the country. In the case of the renewal in person, delivery is immediate.
Those who do not use the digital route will be able to make the payment in person at 47 financial entitieswith 856 branches nationwide, as well as in the collection shops of the DGII in Villa Vásquez (Montecristi) and Sánchez (Samaná). The deadline for in-person payment will extend until Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The tax values they remain no variation with respect to previous period:
RD$1,500 for manufactured vehicles until the year 2020.
- RD$3,000 for those manufactured after 2021.
Sanctions by not renewing on time
The DGII reiterated that surcharges will be applied to those who do not renew within the established period:
- RD$2,000 for vehicles that do not renew before January 31, 2026.
- RD$2,100 for those who they did not renew he label 2024-2025 (RD$2,000 fine and RD$100 for administrative dismissal).
- RD$3,100 for those who they did not renew he label 2023-2024 or previous years (RD$3,000 fine and RD$100 for administrative dismissal).
