Lacava: I put my hand in the fire for my President

The governor of the state of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, expressed his absolute support for President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores, after the recent accusations issued by the US justice system.

In a gesture of political loyalty, Lacava immediately put his position in charge if the guilt of both were proven, reaffirming his total conviction in the innocence of the presidential couple.

“I put my hands in the fire for my President and his wife; what they say is false,” said the regional leader, describing the external accusations as part of a smear campaign.

“President Nicolás Maduro is not corrupt, he is not a terrorist and he does not belong to any drug trafficking cartel; I put my hand in the fire for my President and the first lady, because what they are saying is totally false, and if they prove to me that everything they are saying is true, I will put my position to the test,” he guaranteed.

He maintained that all levels of the State remain fully willing to work for the peace of the country, hand in hand with the instructions of the acting president Delcy Rodríguez, whom he described as a brave, loyal and patriotic woman who understands the historical moments that her people are facing.
