Rural students from Michoacán and Puebla marched in Mexico City to demand a dialogue table with the Ministries of the Interior and Public Education. The dissidents demand compliance with the agreements to improve the infrastructure of the campuses, as well as the release of Eder Israel Aparicio Bracamontes, a student at the Normal Vasco de Quiroga, from Tiripetío, Michoacán, held in the Mil Cumbres prison since last July 19. Although they recognized that a dialogue table was achieved, “it is clear that there is no willingness to move forward on certain issues, such as the demand that the federal government, and not the state, apply the Istanbul protocol to comrade Eder, which allows it to be verified that he was a victim of torture during his detention.”
