Social, political and union organizations protested in front of the National Congress in rejection of the project that supports the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in the framework of the debate on the initiative in the Senate.
The concentration was held from 16 in front of the Legislative Palace, which this Thursday woke up fenced as part of a security operation that seeks to prevent the incidents that occurred last week in that place when Deputies began treatment of the project in accordance with the credit agency that obtained a half sanction.
An important column of the Socialist Workers Movement (MST) was located in Rivadavia, while awaiting the arrival of the rest of the parties and organizations grouped in the Left-Unity Front (FIT-U) that called for the protest, such as the Socialist Workers Party (PTS), the Workers Party, and the Socialist Left (IS).
Social groups grouped together in the “Unidad Piquetera” bloc headed by the Polo Obrero also mobilized.

The rejection of the project that endorses the debt refinancing agreement with the IMF taken by the government of Mauricio Macri has been felt since morning in various protests, with traffic cuts on avenues and access bridges to the Federal Capital, by other social, political and union organizations.
From minutes after 10 o’clock, militants and leaders of the Clasista and Combative Current (CCC) and the CTA-Autónoma concentrated at the foot of the Pueyrredón Bridge which overlooks Miter Avenue, in the Buenos Aires town of Avellaneda, where traffic was interrupted in the direction of the City of Buenos Aires.
The day of protests – which took place under the slogan “100 popular pots against the agreement with the IMF”– It was also promoted by the Union of Land Workers (UTT), SME entrepreneurs for National Development; the Free Organization of the People (OLP); the Argentine Manifesto; FeTeRA; Popular Unity (UP); sovereigns; PTP-PCR; National Cause; PC; FIPCA and Grupo Bolívar, among others.
In that demonstration it was claimed that “the fraudulent debt with the IMF” – contracted during the Macri government – “is paid by those who took it away.”
The protest also took place in the vicinity of the Saavedra Bridge (Vicente López), the Bernal Triangle (Quilmes), the Varela Crossing (Florencio Varela), the Berazategui Highway descent; Route 23 and Gaona (Moreno); Route 36 and 520. (La Plata); Port of Buenos Aires and Route 3 and Salvigny (La Matanza).
As well there were popular pots in different parts of the city of Buenos Aires and in the interior of the country.
The day of protest had as its slogan “say no to the IMF, the debt is with the people and that it is urgent to resolve the emergencies of the popular sectors and the group of workers,” the CCC said in a statement.
In their call, the organizations pointed out the need to “promote the suspension and investigation of the fraudulent debt” so that “those who took it will pay it, those who escaped every dollar of that scam, who used that money to favor the negotiated of Macri’s friends and they fled the money abroad betting on the financial scam over the interests of the people” and concluded: “For us and us the debts are paid, the scams are not”.
