Ganadero llora por el robo de su ganado en Galapa (Atlántico).

The theft of 47 heifers on a farm in the municipality of Galapa, Atlántico, revealed the deep drama that Juan Camilo Restrepo, rancher and CEO of Mundo del Ganadero, is experiencing today, who lost in one fell swoop years of work, sacrifice and dreams linked to the Colombian countryside.

With a broken voice and visibly affected, Restrepo recounted in a video posted on social networks the difficult moment he was going through after learning about the theft. According to what he said, the stolen cattle were part of an embryo project that he had been building with enthusiasm, effort and a strong financial investment.

The rancher explained that the majority of the heifers are F1 Girolandas, in addition to other three-quarter specimens, animals of high genetic value that were being prepared for a specialized procedure in Barranquilla. For him, it is not just about cattle, but the fruit of years of planning and love for his activity.

“There are one’s savings,” he expressed sadly, making it clear that not only his capital was deposited in those animals, but also his hopes for growth and development in the agricultural sector. The blow, he said, was devastating both economically and emotionally.

According to their testimony, the rustlers entered the farm during the night after breaking several security chains that protected the property and the corrals. The ease with which all the livestock was taken increased their feeling of helplessness and vulnerability to rural crime.

Although the authorities are already carrying out investigation work, Restrepo made a desperate call to the community to help him spread the word about the case and provide any information that would allow the heifers to be recovered. His story reflects the silent drama that many ranchers experience, who see how in a single night they can lose the work of a lifetime.
