The Cicpc officials of the Coordination of Investigations of Crimes against Persons of the Barinas municipal delegation managed to arrest Carlos Glislander Sánchez Barrios (18) for the death of José Rodolfo Peña (71), which occurred in the Mi Futuro sector, Ramón Ignacio Méndez parish, municipality and state of Barinas.
According to the Instagram account of the director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, the investigations determined that Sánchez Barrios went to the victim’s home on January 2, and set several articles of clothing on fire and threw them at him, in order to scare him; However, the flames consumed the structure, causing the death of the septuagenarian.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Sánchez Barrios had committed the act, since his ex-girlfriend, a 16-year-old girl, lived in the septuagenarian’s home, and because she had ended the romantic relationship they had, he attacked the victim’s home as a method of pressure to force the young woman to resume the relationship; However, on the day of the incident, the victim’s neighbors tried to save the septuagenarian and the young woman, taking them to the Luis Razetti Hospital, where Peña presented burns on 42% of his body surface, in a special area, face, neck and hands, which led to his death on January 7.
Sánchez Barrios was located in the Punta Gorda sector, Corazón de Jesús parish, Barinas municipality and state.
