The United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah F. Campos, visited the National Drug Control Directorate this Thursday for the first time (DNCD), where he met with Vice Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa, president of the institution, in a meeting to reinforce bilateral cooperation in the fight against narcoterrorism and joint operations in progress.
Through a press releasethe DNCD reported that during the meeting it was agreed to strengthen collaboration against drug trafficking, money laundering and transnational organized crime.
The institution indicated that it has continued to demonstrate its operational capacity through seizures and coordinated actions with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the United States Department of State.
Joint operations
In that sense, they indicated that the DEA and the INL have facilitated the joint operations and training for DNCDstrengthening its capabilities, including support for specialized units and the exchange of best practices in interdiction and intelligence
- The collaboration is designed to strengthen institutional capacityimprove the operating results and promote regional stability.
During his visit to the DNCDthe Ambassador Camposwas accompanied by Rebecca Marquezdirector of the Office of Counternarcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the United States Embassy in the country.
