Mexico City, March 16, 2022. Global Money Week 2022 will take place from March 21 to 27 with educational activities including workshops, conferences, plays, podcasts, live broadcasts, among others.
Global Money Week is an initiative promoted by the International Network for Financial Education (INFE) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and aims to create an international awareness campaign about the importance of girls, boys, adolescents and young people acquire financial notions from an early age, to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to make solid financial decisions and that allow them to achieve levels of well-being.
In its tenth edition, Global Money Week presents the theme Build your future, be smart with your money, which seeks to highlight the importance of thinking about our future and planning when making financial decisions. For the second consecutive year, the MIDE, Interactive Museum of Economy, was chosen as the institution that will coordinate the agenda of activities on a national scale. In 2021, only in Mexico, the events related to the Global Money Week had a reach of more than 735 thousand people, by 2022 it is contemplated to exceed this figure. In this edition, more than 40 participating institutions will join, from educational and financial institutions, autonomous bodies, finance experts, influencers, as well as other companies from all over the country; everyone with the aim of joining efforts to organize high-value digital educational activities with free access.
In this edition, the MIDE, Interactive Museum of Economy, will participate with digital workshops for schools, educational resources on the Museum’s social networks and even a play. On Saturday, March 26 at 12:00 p.m., from the official Facebook account of MIDE (@museo.mide), the play will be broadcast live The smallest and briefest history of money where the public will be able to embark on a fantastic journey from skins in prehistory, to the use of small precious stones as small as a fingernail in classical civilizations; from cocoa beans and quetzal feathers in Mesoamerica, to jade in China.
On the other hand, the MIDE will present the educational project financial monsters, an educational development that is made up of different digital resources, among which a series of animated microclips stands out, showing some of the most common financial problems that people face and how they can generate strategies to solve them. In addition, a 2×1 coupon will be made available to people who enter the microsite at the general entrance to the Interactive Museum of Economy, valid from March 22 to 27, 2022.
