The Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD) together with the Macfrut Organizing Committee and various institutions in the agricultural sector, carried out a meeting with agro-exporters Dominicans to publicize the details of the Dominican Pavilion at the international fair Macfrut 2026which will take place from April 21 to 23, 2026 in Rimini, Italy.
During the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture, Francisco Oliverio Espaillatexpressed that for the Dominican Republic It is an honor that a fair of the magnitude of Macfrut is dedicated to the country, since this allows us to expand agricultural frontiers and showcase the quality of Dominican agricultural products in the international market.
“We are more than satisfied, because this fair gives us the opportunity to show the quality of our production. Expanding the agricultural frontiers is a direct support to the country, since it generates more employment in the countryside and greater resources for the national economy, promoting the development dynamics that the Dominican Republic“said the minister in a press release.
Likewise, he thanked the dedication of this important event to the country and highlighted the commitment of Dominican producers, who work daily in the field with the aim of offering products of excellence.
Importance of Dominican participation in Macfrut 2026
The executive president of the Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD), Osmar C. Benitezhighlighted the relevance of the Dominican participation in international events of this magnitude.
He highlighted that the JAD, along with other institutions in the sector, will be present in Macfrut 2026 promoting products like avocado, mango and other agro-industrial sectors, reaffirming the country’s commitment to the expansion and diversification of its agricultural exports. He said that for the first time this international fair is dedicated to Dominican Republic.
For his part, the ambassador of Italy in the Dominican Republic, Stefano Queirolo Palmasvalued Macfrut’s evolution positively, highlighting its sustained growth in both participation and business opportunities.
He noted that “Italy, through platforms such as Macfrut, represents a gateway not only to the Italian market, but also to the european market as a whole, thanks to its logistical and commercial ecosystems.” He also indicated that “Italy can provide technical knowledge and technology to modernize the Dominican agri-food chain.”
While Lina ValezaMacfrut representative for the Caribbean, expressed that the diplomatic presence at this meeting reaffirms the importance of joint work between State institutions, the productive sector and international allies, in favor of strengthening the Dominican Pavilion in Macfrut 2026.
