Sentenced to maximum sentence for kidnapping

El Chichi arrested accused of murder

Based on the evidence offered by the Public Ministry, Carlos David Bello Perera, 29 years old, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the kidnapping of a 45-year-old merchant, an event that occurred on April 15, 2017 in the Mamporal parish, Eulalia Buroz municipality in the state of Miranda.

In the early morning hours of the aforementioned day, the victim was at a family gathering in the aforementioned area, when they were surprised by Bello Perera and other men, who with firearms subdued the victim and his family members to strip them of their belongings.

Next, the attackers took the merchant out of the residence and put him in his private vehicle to later flee the scene.

After the event, the kidnappers contacted the family members to request 30 million bolivars in cash for their release.

Faced with this situation, the relatives went to the headquarters of the local Scientific Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps to report the incident.

After several investigative procedures coordinated by the Public Ministry, the responsibility of the convicted person for the kidnapping was determined, for which he was detained three days after the event.

Once the means and evidence presented by the prosecutor’s representation had been evaluated, the 1st Miranda Trial Court issued the aforementioned sentence against the man, who is being held in the El Rodeo II Judicial Confinement Center, located in Guatire.
