The Ministry of Transportation revealed new preliminary details about the plane accident that occurred in the vicinity of the Juan José Rondón airfield, between the municipalities of Paipa and Duitama, in Boyacá, in which Six people died, including popular music singer Yeison Jiménez.

The official report confirmed key aspects about the sequence of the accident, the condition of the aircraft and the lines of investigation that seek to clarify the causes of the accident.

According to preliminary information collected by the aeronautical authorities, The aircraft with registration number N325FA was flying at low altitude at the time of the accident, approximately 50 meters above the ground.. Eyewitnesses indicated that the plane initially impacted the ground, which would have caused a rebound before a second, more severe contact.

In that second impact, according to the report, the tail of the aircraft fractured, followed by two explosions separated by a few seconds, attributed to fuel residue. The Authorities confirmed that the aircraft was in flight when the accident occurred and that the point of impact is located approximately one mile from the runway head.

Evidence collection work continues in the area, including the inspection of structural remains and engines, which will be subjected to specialized technical analysis. The collection of runway operational information will be carried out once the area is completely cleared.

The research is developed along three main lines. The first corresponds to the operational component, which evaluates the conditions of the aircraft, its operation on the runway and the meteorological conditions.

The second focuses on the technical and maintenance component, reviewing manuals, certifications, traceability of recent maintenance and possible technical developments. The third line analyzes human factors, including the pilot’s training, experience, licenses, psychophysical conditions, and recent flight habits and hours.

The Minister of Transportation, María Fernanda Rojas, assured that the National Government maintains permanent support for the investigation and reiterated that the process is carried out with technical rigor and transparency. He indicated that air safety is a priority and that each discovery will be key to strengthening operating standards in the country.
