Start of water activities very attractive for boys
Suspended due to bad weather and low temperatures last Thursday, January 8, the kickoff for the proposal that will be developed in the Club Unión pool took place this Tuesday, the 13th.
Two schools participated in aquatic activities on the first day of work in Melo.
Efforts are underway so that Educational Summer children from schools in Noblía and Río Branco have the same opportunity.
“Last Thursday the weather did not warrant encouraging outdoor aquatic activities. Today –for Tuesday the 13th- Yes, the conditions were in place, that is why this proposal for aquatic activity is being inaugurated within the framework of the 2026 Summer Schools Program.” highlighted the Professor Juan García.
“It is a very attractive activity for the children. It is an agreement that has been signed for several years with the Unión Club. At some point the Summer School proposals were falling a little and this allowed us to give an important boost in the motivation of the children to attend the Summer Schools, in particular the Melo schools that have this opportunity” said the Coordinating Teacher of Physical Education of the Departmental Inspection of Schools of Cerro Largo.
“We are taking steps so that school 138 of Río Branco can also attend the Municipality’s pool. We also have planned the presence of School No. 99 of Noblía at the Club Unión pool for the last week of the Program” overtook THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
“It is very good to have this opportunity at a time of year conducive to these activities that are educational, that have a very great educational value, from the locker room, from the educational outing and from the pool itself” he pointed out.
Juan García insisted that water should not be feared but rather respected. “This respect is a construction that children make with Teachers within the knowledge of the space and due respect for safety regulations, for rules that also have to do with coexistence within the aquatic space, something so important that it should be a question of citizenship as well” he remarked. “It would be very good if all citizens could have this learning and what better than in the Uruguayan public school” he added.
Aquatic activity is part of the knowledge within Physical Education. It is a very attractive proposal for the little ones, who they really like. “It does not lose, regardless of the attractive proposal, the educational value it has, which is very important” he emphasized.
Having swimming pools for public use throughout the year is a great must for the entire department in general, but the city of Melo in particular. “To develop this type of activities, a heated pool is required, to sustain the proposal throughout the year. There are conversations, there are projects about it, but it remains to be finalized and for the stars to align so that this can become a reality” he stated.
The Summer School children will use the Club Unión pool on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings. “Every Tuesday and Thursday two schools attend. This Tuesday it was the turn of schools 11 and 75. This will be done until the last week, that is, February 6” he remembered.
“Another aquatic activity proposal that exists within the physical education area is the possibility that schools have to schedule themselves to go to Fraile Muerto beach where Municipal Teachers will be waiting for them to do water activities, kayak sailing, very attractive proposals as well” he assured. “The Summer Schools are scheduled and attended, for this they have the possibility of an amount awarded to the jurisdiction of Cerro Largo for the educational outings, that is, transportation is not an impediment in this case. That is why the Noblía School will attend to do its aquatic activity in Fraile Muerto as it will also do in the last week at the Unión Club” Juan García closed.
