Cuba will pay posthumous tribute to fallen combatants in Venezuela

The Government of Cuba has organized a series of events to pay posthumous tribute to the 32 combatants who fell in Venezuela during the bombing carried out by US forces against civil and military installations.

The deceased, according to what was reported by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, were carrying out tasks of protecting the Venezuelan leadership and were murdered during the early hours of January 3, when the US violated the sovereignty of Venezuela and entered its territory, murdering more than 100 people and kidnapping President Nicolás Maduro along with the first lady Cilia Flores.

To honor its citizens, whose mortal remains will arrive on the island on Thursday the 15th, a military ceremony has been organized at the José Martí International Airport in Havana.

From there the caravan will depart along Rancho Boyeros Avenue to the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces. The people, concentrated on both sides of the road, will honor the fallen.

Once at the Ministry facilities, the people will be given access to say goodbye and pay their respects.

The agenda released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba contemplates that on Friday the 16th, starting at 07:30 local time, a rally will be held at the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribune to carry out the event that will begin the March of the Combatant People.

At 9:00 a.m. that day, the tribute ceremonies continue in all the provincial capitals, to finally, at 4:00 p.m., carry out the burial of the 32 combatants in their respective provinces where they resided.
